Lunch: Bring your own, purchase from concessions or the Summit group will be ordering pizza to be delivered.
This year’s Minnesota Bicycle Summit will include the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota’s second Annual Meeting. It will include guest speakers and reports from staff, board members and committee chairs on the activities of the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota. The guest speakers will be:
- Ethan Fawley, Fresh Energy, Transportation Connections Coordinator – 2010 Complete Streets legislation and MN Complete Streets Coalition updates.
- Tim Mitchell, Mn/DOT Bicycle & Pedestrian Unit Supervisor – Nonmotorized Program Update.
- Steve Clark, Transit for Livable Communities Walking and Bicycling Program Manager will speak about the $25 million Nonmotorized Transportation Pilot Program in Minneapolis.
- Bill Nesper, League of American Bicyclists Bicycle Friendly America Program Manager will speak about bicycle friendly communities and states and Minnesota’s ranking as the 5th most bicycle friendly state.
The Summit will also include:
- A panel discussion about becoming a bicycle friendly business and community featuring Bill Nesper, Charlie Quigg and Nick Mason. Charlie played a major role in IBM – Rochester’s successful application and the City of Rochester’s pending application. Nick played a major role in Minneapolis’ application which resulted in being granted Silver status and Dero Bike Rack’s recent ranking as a Gold level business.
- A meeting of League Cycling Instructors (LCI) and those interested in becoming LCI’s to discuss bicycle education efforts and issues in Minnesota.
There is no charge for the summit and meeting but please consider joining the Bicycle Alliance as a member.
