Board Members
The following are the current staff and board members of the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota.

Dorian Grilley
Executive Director
Dorian has worked with non-profits as a volunteer or staff for almost thirty years including many years with the Minnesota Coalition of Bicyclists, BikeMN's predecessor. He was the Executive Director Parks & Trails Council of Minnesota 1996 to 2008. He currently serves on the board of the Friends of Washington County and Mississippi River Trail, Inc. He worked for the Minnesota DNR from 1979 to 1996. Dorian commuted 25-30 miles round trip daily for 25 years and raced for more than a decade. He and his family live in Mahtomedi near White Bear Lake.

Nick Mason
Education & Technical Assistance Program Manager
Nick has been involved in the bike industry and bicycle advocacy for ten years. Formerly with the Dero Bike Rack Company, he joined the BikeMN staff in April 2010. He began his advocacy work at the Washington Area Bicyclist Assocation and currently serves on the Minneapolis Bicycle Advisory Committee, Bike Walk Advisory Council, and as vice-chair of the State Non-motorized Transportation Committee. As an LCI, his favorite subject to teach is winter biking. Nick enjoys 50+ MPH desents on long rides on his road bike as much as hauling groceries in his Big Dummy.

Rob Jackson
President, St. Paul
Rob has been an avid bicyclist for the last 25 years. He was a member of the organizing committee for the creation of BikeMN and is chairman of the strategic planning committee. A physical fitness enthusiast, Rob has completed nine marathons and an Ironman Triathlon. He enjoys swimming, running, road & mountain biking, sea kayaking, inline skating, cross-country and downhill skiing. Rob is a member of the Ride & Glide cc skiing and bicycling club in Saint Paul. Professionally, he is a results focused sales leader with extensive experience in e-commerce marketing, professional services, manufacturing, and distribution industries. Rob and his wife Kathy live in Saint Paul and have five children.

Michael Doyle
Avon
Michael has produced or assisted in producing more than 30 bicycle tours professionally during the past 20 years. His work with the Tour of Saints, "A heavenly little ride", the Caramel Roll, "A sweet roll along a sweet trail" and the Saint Paul Classic Bike Tour, "A rolling festival of fun", has helped more than 40,000 cyclists pedal more than 1.5 million miles. Michael has been actively involved in bicycle advocacy since 1991, when he attended the Minnesota State Bicycle Conference for the unveiling of ISTEA, the federal funding program that launched the creation of bicycle trails across the nation. A past chair of the Minnesota State Bicycle Advisory Committee, he served on that committee from 1996 to 2002. He has represented road cyclists and hikers for the Minnesota Recreational Trail Users Association since 1996. Michael lives in Collegeville Township with his two daughters and his son, who attend schools along the nearby Lake Wobegon Trail.

Alan Downs
Eden Prairie
Alan is a Senior Project Manager for the Enterprise Project Office at Park Nicollet Health Services. He spent 12 years as Process and Project Consultant for several Fortune 500 firms in the Metro region. Alan was also involved in 16 years of high school administration and teaching, which contributes to his passion and interest in the Education aspect of the Bicycle Alliance of MN.

Louis Moore
Minneapolis
Louis is retired from the US House of Representatives as district staff for the now retired Congressman Martin Olav Sabo. He is the president of the Major Taylor Bicycling Club of Minnesota, the premiere African American Bike Club in the upper mid-west. Louis is a road cyclist and former racer. He is a part time consultant for Community Action of Minneapolis.

Kathy Schoenbauer
Minneapolis
Kathy is the president of Schoenbauer Consulting, LLC. She specializes in research, facilitation, project planning and management and community outreach. Kathy has an MBA from St. Thomas University. She is an avid cyclist and outdoor enthusiast.

Mark Tessmer
New Hope
Mark has been a Veterans Employment Representative and Business Specialist with the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development since 1973. He became involved with the Minnesota Coalition of Bicyclist in 1982 and served on the board of that organization. Mark has been a year around bicycle commuter since 1981. He is a lifetime member of the League of American Bicyclists and the Adventure Cycling Association.

Charles Quigg
Rochester
Since childhood, Charlie has always ridden a bicycle, for fun, fitness, purposeful transportation and more. He served for six years (1999-2005) on the Minnesota State Bicycle Advisory Committee (including two years as chair). In February, 2005, he was appointed to one of two citizen positions on the Rochester Olmsted Council of Government (ROCOG). In July, 2006, Charlie was appointed chair of the new ROCOG Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee.

Dana DeMaster
St. Paul
Dana is a research analyst/program evaluator at the Minnesota Department of Human Services and has experience in non-profit and government program design, evaluation, and statistical analysis. She has a Master of Public Policy from the Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota. Dana and her family use bicycles as their primary transportation year round.

Nicole Waxmonsky
St. Paul
Nicole is a graduate student in cell biology and year-round bike commuter. She became a League Cycling Instructor in 2008 so that she could help people feel more comfortable cycling in traffic. She currently races for the U of M and Synergy squad on the road, dirt and most recently, the track. When not on a bicycle or in the laboratory, she enjoys working on sustainability projects at her housing cooperative.

Peter Breyfogle
Treasurer, Shoreview
Peter is an avid recreational, fitness, and transportation rider who became a League Cycling Instructor in 2009. He is currently a self-employed web application developer. Peter worked as a manager in a large fortune 500 insurance company IS department for 15 years. He holds an MBA from St. Thomas University.
