We are happy to announce the return of Bikeable Community Workshops, now conducted via a hybrid model!
Is your community eager to capture the momentum of the recent bike boom? COVID-19 has changed the way we live, work, and play. This includes how we support communities and offer our workshops statewide. BikeMN is partnering with the Minnesota Departments of Health and Transportation to hold hybrid Bikeable Community Workshops in Spring and Summer 2022.
At a hybrid Bikeable Community Workshop, local and regional staff, engineers, elected officials, law enforcement, public health staff, planners, advocates, and other community bicycle champions are brought together to create a bicycle-friendly action plan tailored to the community’s needs and goals. Through presentations, breakout discussions, and an independent bike audit, participants work to assess the community’s bicycle plans and facilities and discuss ways to encourage and empower community members to bike more often.
In compliance with Minnesota Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, workshops have been adapted to engage communities through a hybrid model of virtual discussion and in-person workshopping. We understand that every community is facing unique challenges this year. We will meet communities where they are, adapting content to address current needs and restraints.
Applications are open now and must be submitted by January 21, 2022. Check out our website to look over the 2022 BCW Planning Guide and apply to host a Bikeable Community Workshop in your city: bikemn.org/bcw.
