ALS Minnesota Bicycle Ride
Let’s ride together on August 24 and raise funds to find treatments and a cure for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Register for the ride on the Hiawatha Bicycling Club’s web page: https://hbc.hiawathabike.org/stats/pages/calendar.xhtml
There is no registration fee.
Multiple routes start from Scandia, MN and range in distance from 28 miles to 53 miles. The routes pedal past horse farms, through small towns and along fields of corn.
In addition to providing an enjoyable bike ride, this event has two purposes. The first purpose is to build awareness about ALS. The second purpose of the event is to request a donation to the ALS Therapy Development Institute (TDI), a research organization located in Boston, MA that is devoted to finding treatments and ultimately a cure for ALS. Visit the ALS TDI Website https://www.als.net/ and review research projects, therapies and the compelling patient stories.
Instead of a registration fee, we ask you to donate to support ALS research on the ride’s Fundraising Page: https://fundraise.als.net/alsbikeride and click the ‘Donate to ALS Research’ button.
This ride has no SAG support but each ride is marshalled and riders stick together. Following the ride, riders and friends are invited to enjoy an optional lunch together at a nearby venue.
