BikeMN’s Adult Learn to Ride classes are free courses that teach adults how to ride a bike. Over the course of several sessions adults, who have never learned how to ride a bike or who need a refresher, progress from walking with a bike to striding and gliding, to pedaling on their own. We also ride together as a group! BikeMN supplies bikes and helmets for use during the class, and we provide a free bike to each participant when they complete the course. We are thrilled that sessions are filling up fast, but we need help from local volunteers!
Volunteers can help in a variety of ways: from greeting and registration, fitting bikes and helmets, offering 1:1 support or leading small group rides, to simple bike maintenance needed the day of — there are tons of ways to show up! Classes will be held on weekday evenings (6 pm – 8 pm) in Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and the Twin Cities Metro region. BikeMN is able to provide a stipend for volunteers and lots of snacks.
