9th Annual Leftovers Ride with Joyful Riders
Join us for the Leftovers Ride: A joyful Black Friday tradition.
After you’ve braved (or avoided) the malls and the crowds, come and enjoy a relaxing bike ride with your friends and family on the day after Thanksgiving. We’ll explore scenic spots in Minneapolis, share delicious leftovers, and have a blast burning a table.
The Leftovers Ride is an annual event that celebrates community, silliness, and a bit of low-key debauchery. It started nine years ago when we stumbled upon a table in the forest and decided to set it on fire. Now, every year, we bring a new table to burn as a symbol of our gratitude and joy.
Here are the details of this year’s ride:
Meet at 3:00 p.m. at Gold Medal Park, near the Stone Arch Bridge.
Ride at 3:30 p.m., following a route of about 6 miles round trip.
Stop at Witch’s Hat Tower, a historic landmark with a stunning view of the city skyline.
Build a roaring fire and feast on our Turkey Day leftovers. Bring your own food, drinks, utensils, and plates. We’ll provide the table (to burn) and the firewood.
End at Malcolm Yards, a sweet food hall just off the U of M transitway with food, drinks, and entertainment options.
This ride is kid- and family-friendly and open to riders of all skills and experience levels. We ride at a leisurely pace of about 8–10 miles per hour, and we have a sweeper and regroup points to keep everyone together. All you need is a bike, a helmet, a light, and a sense of adventure.
Don’t miss this chance to have some fun and make some memories on Black Friday. Join us for the Leftovers Ride and be part of a unique Minneapolis tradition!
