Black Bike Week – “An Evening with Shaums March” Bike Culture and Race

We will start with dinner and short films about emerging mountain bikers and the ways that their lives were changed by living into biking. Shaums will then sit with us and share his journey to becoming a world champion. Shaums is passionate about mountain biking and started his career in 1994 racing downhill in Big Bear, CA; coming up through the state series, taking some wins against some of the top pros of that day, with an impressive 2nd year, Shaums jumped into the National series while his riding style and personality were catching the eye of magazines where Shaums was featured on no less than half dozen covers around the globe in his first National racing season. Catching the eye of bike sponsors, and was even scouted by Redbull to become the first male mountain biker for the Redbull US team. Throughout his career, Shaums stood on the podium around the globe. Shaums also helped create some new events like X-Games, Slopestyle, and Urban freeride events that are still being hosted
