Cycle Unmapped Weekly Rides
Cycle Unmapped is a friendly, welcoming cycling group, that also enjoys hanging out over a cold beverage after a bike ride. It’s active, it’s social, it’s fun!
We ride on Thursday nights throughout the Spring and Summer. Rides depart from the brewery at 6:00, we recommend showing up a little early in case there are any notices or changes. Also, first time riders need to fill out a waiver before riding with us. As you might imagine, helmets are required for ALL riders.
Each week we offer four different ride options:
– Road A (approximately 20 miles in distance, at about 17mph) Mostly on the roads on the west metro, often times doing a loop around Lake Minnetonka without any stops.
– Road B (approximately 14 miles in distance, at about 13mph) Mostly paved trails, with a focus on on learning how to communicate and ride as a group.
– Mountain Bike (either 10 or 15 miles, at Lone Lake Park) We generally ride to Lone Lake Park and do either one or two laps. These are no drop rides, and all skill levels are welcome. Lone Lake Park is all single track, and is considered to be a challenging course for it’s relatively short 5 mile distance.
– Social Ride (approximately 11 miles in distance, at about 10mph) The “Party Pace” is a great option for anyone who hasn’t ridden in a group, or it’s been awhile since they been out on a bike. These rides stick mostly to sidewalks and bike paths, very minimal road shoulders. Each week is an adventure to find new unknown bike paths in the area, all while trying to avoid any of the hills.
All rides are no attitude, no drop (meaning if someone has a mechanical issue, people will wait and help), and all fun. All are welcome, no matter your skill level. There’s a group for everyone! Oh, and each rider gets a BOGO beer after each ride. Cheers!
