Grease Rag Prom Cat!

The prom night you’ve always dreamed of. Join us as we don our fanciest, set out on a mini scavenger hunt, and reunite for an epic dance party at the finish line.

That’s right, Grease Rag Prom is also an alleycat! Specifically, a very beginner-friendly and non-competitive version of these urban races. We’ll gather at Father Hennepin Bluff Park, hand out manifests of the spots+prom night tasks you have to hit around town, send everyone on their merry way, and regroup at Bohemian Flats. Gather 4:45, manifests at 5:00, roll out 5:15.

You can ride solo or with buddies – and if you don’t have buddies we’ll find you some! Everyone will create their own route so length will vary between 5-10ish miles.
Formal prom-wear, whatever that means to you, and bike decor is absolutely encouraged. We will crown a Prom Royal + other prizes at the end before we dance the night away.*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*

Grease Rag is a community organization which encourages and empowers FTW (Femme/Trans/Women, Non-binary, Two-spirit) cyclists in a collaborative and fun learning environment through rides, discussions, shop nights and educational seminars in a safer space. Visit greaserag.org to learn more.

This is a safer space. The most important thing to know about safer spaces is that we are constantly learning how to make our spaces safer for the most historically marginalized in our community. Safety means spaces where we reduce harm for people who experience violence or discrimination due to their appearance or identity. We acknowledge that no space is completely safe for any of us, but that safer spaces are places where we can be our whole selves because we collectively resist and heal from the forces that oppress us, which can take the form of sexism, racism, transphobia, ableism, homophobia, and more.
