110 MILE, 54 MILE, & 26 MILE GRAVEL CLASSIC

Welcome one and all to the 7th edition of Le Grand du Nord!

Le Grand represents one of the most amazing gravel courses in the United States. Beginning in Grand Marais, Minnesota’s spectacular harbor, all three events follow the shores of Lake Superior before climbing to their final destinations. With more than 5500 ft of climbing and a decidedly remote feel, the 110 mile course is beautifully challenging. The 54 mile course has plenty of climbing and miles of forested roads. The 26 mile “marathon” route is a Le Grand-worthy introduction to gravel cycling with its mix of paved and gravel roads, climbing and great Lake Superior views.

We want Le Grand du Nord to be more than just amazing gravel riding. We will have Voyageur Brewing Company be an outside bib pickup location for us on Friday, May 27. Voyageur Brewing Company and us at Heck of the North Productions want to help keep everyone safe this year. We are recommending all activity associated with the event to take place outdoors this year. Thanks for respecting this and helping each other and our hosting community to remain safe.

All events will run on the Heck/Le Grand principles of cue card/GPS navigation, self-supported riding ethics and physically challenging courses. All will be exceptionally beautiful. The aspens will be in full lime-green splendor, the insects at a minimum (usually!) and woods waking up to a new Spring.

Our goal with Le Grand du Nord is to take all that we love about gravel cycling and bring it together for one special weekend. Amazing routes, beautiful hosting town and time spent outside with your friends and family. Doesn’t get much better than that. Hope to see you up North this May.
