Celebrate Bike to Work Week with a Group Bike Ride in Downtown Saint Paul

Bike to Work Week is May 13 through May 17 — and we’re celebrating on May 16 in Saint Paul with a casual ride around downtown on the newly completed first phase of the Kellogg Boulevard Capital City Bikeway! Meet us at the Union Depot (214 4th St E, Saint Paul, MN  55101) for a mellow-paced group ride on the non-dedicated lanes on Wabasha Street, tracing the path of the future, fully protected bikeway. We will take a short jaunt along the Samuel Morgan Trail, and then end with an optional social gathering to connect and celebrate after the ride. The total route is 3 miles and will highlight great bicycle infrastructure being developed in downtown Saint Paul. Questions? Reach out to Max at maxs@movemn.orgRSVP here!

Sweets & Treats FTW Bike Ride

Wednesday, May 22, 6:00 – 8:00 PM, roll out at 6:15, Meet: Father Hennepin Bluff Park

Join Move Minnesota for an FTW-only (femme, trans, women only) ride this Bike Month! We’ll meet at Father Hennepin Bluff Park (420 SE Main St, Minneapolis, MN 55414) near the new restroom building at the southeast end of the Stone Arch Bridge. We’ll set off across downtown Minneapolis and along the river before stopping for some ice cream (our treat!) along the way, ending at Malcolm Yards. We’ll also have some surprise treats along the way! This will be a relaxed-pace ride of 10-12 miles. So that we can plan for enough treats, registration is required. We have room for 20 riders so register early!  Anyone who wants to socialize after the ride is welcome to stay for conversation at Malcolm Yards! Questions? Reach out to Elissa at elissas@movemn.org. What is FTW? Check out this resource from local bicycling collective Grease Rag. RSVP here!

Livable Lyndale Bike Rally and Ride

Wednesday, May 29 6:00-8:00 PM, Meet: Painter Park

Whether we walk, roll, bike, or bus, we all want to feel safe and included on our community streets. That’s why Move Minnesota and our Minneapolis volunteer team are working to get Lyndale Avenue South redesigned with people in mind. Join us for a Livable Lyndale bike ride and rally to raise awareness and show Hennepin County we support dedicated space for both bus lanes and bike lanes in the upcoming reconstruction! We’ll meet at the tennis courts at Painter Park (620 W 34th St, Minneapolis, MN  55408) for a rally with inspiring speakers and pump-up music, and then roll for a casual-paced group bike ride of the Lyndale reconstruction route (note: we will be biking next to traffic). We will end the night with a social to celebrate and connect! Questions? Reach out to Julie at juliej@movemn.orgRSVP here!

Want to help make these rides safe, inviting, and enjoyable for everyone? Move Minnesota is looking for volunteers to help with our group bike rides for Bike Month this May. Choose to volunteer at one or more of the rides happening every week throughout the month. Learn more and sign up here!
